#ICYMI .. Big 3 Brings Hot Shots and Entertainment to the ATL

Ice Cube and his Big 3 league invaded State Farm arena on Sunday for a star studded afternoon of Basketball and fun.

In the first match-up the Triplets took out Bivouc 51-45. The man of the hour was Joe Johnson who brought the team back from down 15 and secured the win for the Triplets behind his team high 26 points.

There was plenty of Atlanta ties in this match-up as it featured Will Bynum, Anthony Morrow and Dion Glover who all played college ball at Georgia Tech and Josh Smith (former Atlanta Hawk).

In the second match-up the Killer 3’s beat the 3 Headed Monsters 51 – 48. Stephen Jackson led all scorers with 22 points as the 3’s remained unbeaten on the season at 3-0.

“Our guys fought hard, they made some mental errors down the stretch but we go the win. I’m glad to be 3-0.”  – Coach Charles Oakley

As always Stephen Jackson had plenty to say after the game and make sure to catch our one on one interview with S-Jax on our YouTube page. Also of note Frank Session who is a young up and coming speedy guard also chipped in with 10 points and 6 points. We asked everyone who in the league Frank reminds them of and here is there response.

Killer 3’s vs 3 Headed Monsters Recap

The final match-up of the evening saw Power take down Trilogy 50-43 to grab their first win of the season. David Hawkins paced the Power with 22 points as they overcame 17 points from Trilogy’s Julian Wright. Cutino Mobley sustained a knee injury in the game and is status going forward is uncertain and Glen “Big Baby” Davis was ejected from the game and made quite the departure.
